The music of The Armed’s 2015 untitled LP was somewhat of a manifesto addressing the current artistic climate. Curation vs. creation. Appropriation and misappropriation. And, per usual, tons of horrible noise. We played these lyrical themes out in lush visuals and dressed it up in a triple gatefold LP package.
We built a three-video media campaign around its launch to build anticipation. It worked. The PR from those assets pushed word of the fairly obscure and almost obsessively unmarketable band into publications like Rolling Stone, NPR, Pitchfork, Fader, and Stereogum.
